My Cricut Roller success!

If you are like me and you love crafting, and you have a cutting machine like the Cricut maker that has been destroying your mats, but you couldn’t figure out why…I have the answer as to why it has been destroying your mats and the solution to fix your problem! My Cricut maker kept destroying my mats, and I couldn’t figure out what was going on, so I had my husband to come take a look at it as he is good at fixing almost anything I’ve ever asked him to fix. Upon checking my Cricut maker, out to see what the problem was. He discovered that the roller was messed up. It was only one of the rollers it was the one on the right it kept sliding up and down the bar that it is supposed to sit still on to take the mat in and out of the Cricut machine. I was so excited because he suggested that if we could find a piece to replace that roller that he could probably fix it. So I started re-search on Google to see what I could find. I discovered I was not the only person having this problem there were many others that were having the same issue, and there is a solution! I have the original Cricut maker, and although I would like to have the Cricut maker three I haven’t looked into that purchase yet because I’m trying to wait it out as my Cricut maker still seems fairly new to me, I really love the colors of my Cricut maker and the tools that match it so I didn’t want to jump in to getting the new one for a few different reasons in this post. I’m going to post a few photos of my Cricut maker before and after, and I will try to find some videos  to show you of the problem that I was having. My husband was able to fix my Cricut maker and I didn’t have to buy a new one yet! After doing research, I was able to find out that there are a few places that you can buy new rollers. I believe they are actually made by 3-D printers and they worked perfectly as replacements. Actually I would dare to say they were even better than the ones that the Cricut originally has. now my Cricut maker is like new, and I am able to work with all types of projects, since I am not destroying my mats anymore! i’m excited again to use my machine I had lost interest because I was so discouraged because of wasting so many mats. I’m so glad that I had my husband who fixed my machine and I’m so thankful for the sellers and makers of the rubber roller replacement! Below, I’m going to post the link where you can find the replacements to fix your machine and I will try to link the videos as well that we used as reference before taking our machines apart it does take some time to take apart, but it is well worth it if you love your machine and you were not ready to replace it just be very careful and follow the steps. Also, I would like to add you probably don’t wanna do this. If you’re Cricut is still under warranty I think that you can send your maker or your Cricut machine whichever it may be back to Cricut and they may be able to repair it but if it is not under warranty then this is a very affordable fix for your machine as long as you’re careful. Don’t be discouraged by the videos because it does look like it is very hard to do it isn’t it just take some time to do it as there are a lot of pieces but you’ve got this you can do it and save your machine! Below is a photo of my roller before I had to replace it as you can see. I had to stop a piece of card stock in there to rig it up to be able to keep it still long enough to pull through the mat to work on my projects, which is kind of ridiculous and embarrassing, but I did work for short while.

My mat was completely destroyed, and this wasn’t the only one that this happened to you before I realized what in the world was going on. I am so glad that it is fixed!

I am now back to making tons of different crafts and my machine runs perfectly. I’ve even started engraving keychains, which is pretty fun! I hope this helps anyone out there, having trouble with their machine rollers! If you were interested, this is the project I am currently working on. I will post the link below so that you can check it out in Cricut Design Space.
